so, i fail

Clearly I've been failing on the blogging front. I need to learn to set my priorities in order. When procrastinating, avoiding reality, shunning responsibility or any other wacky way I choose to "not deal" I should spend my time here. Writing to you. The adoring public. Which I think is just Nikol. But I know she wants to hear what I've got to say. Right, Nikol? That's right, you little legend, you.

Unfortunately, I am neither boiling over with creativity nor frustration at the moment (evidently those are the only two gears I use when not in Park. Which would be both the mode that I'm in now and the name of the Avenue I can see out my window) which means that my time would be better spent not consuming yours with all this, as the funky French say, junk.

But, as I am a fan of making lists and pretending to follow them, I'll make a to-do list of future posts.
Ahem:
  1. Things I have read (but not finished) and how I feel about that.
  2. Things I have viewed (likely with interruptions) and how I feel about that.
  3. Things I like to eat (but don't have available to me) and how I feel about that.
  4. Things that are pretty and I want (but cannot afford) and how I feel about that.
  5. Things that are shows (and may or may not see) and how I feel about that.
  6. Things that are people (whom I may or may not dig) and how I feel about that.
  7. My inevitable spiraling toward lunacy and spinsterdom, and how I feel about that.
So this is a brief intro to the random ramblings that will surely follow.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to scroll down and read Nikol's posts before she kills me.

30 hours

NY is 30 hours away. I should be packing but instead here are the possible names for my iphone. I decided to take names from El Almanaque Pintoresco de Bristol this almanac has been in circulation for 176 years and contains moon phases, jokes and, most importantly, the saint of the day. For years I've heard of this almanac from my mother who told me when she was young, and specially generations before hers, a lot of families would use this book to name their children according to the saint of the day. I've always laughed because the names are, for the most part, always ridiculous and incredibly ugly, so I decided what better place to look for better name for my iphone than this. Some examples:
  • Altagracia
  • Idelfonso
  • Pionio
  • Teófilo
  • Quintilino
  • Ciriaco
  • Filemón
  • Serapión
  • Toribio de Mogroviejo
  • Urbicio
  • Tiburcio
  • Pio
  • Segismundo
  • Geroncio
  • Caccaciolo
  • Saturnina
  • Crescencia
  • Agripina
  • Sinforiano
  • Nicodemo
  • Cornelio [Reminds me of Chuck P...]
  • Eustaquio
  • Eusebia [What I would've been named if my mother actually followed this]
  • Basiniano
  • Eulalia
  • Eleusipo
  • Espelosipo
  • Meleusipo
  • Severiano
I want it to be a girl so I narrowed it down to :
  • Altagracia
  • Saturnina
  • Crescencia
  • Agripina
  • Eusebia
  • Eulalia
Gabi what do you think? haha I'm leaning towards Altagracia, Eulalia and Eusebia.

On another note Andrew Bird is on Thursday and his new album is amazing and his limited edition instrumental companion album to Noble Beast is amazing. He needs to marry me N O W. Sigh.

Julia sent me this link and this is amazing really. Kanye finds the awesomest things man and his suite for one of the million inaguration parties was also amazing, who cares if he has a Mr. T hairdo, he looked good. Store:

3 days

As Gabi leaves for US of A tomorrow I come to the realization that I've done nothing productive while here. I took a couple of rolls and read a couple of books but mainly I just sat and watched a million crappy movies. The creativity spiked at some point but I didn't know what to make or draw or take pictures of or anything so if I remember correctly I just wrote about my feelings of being back. Which is what I always end up doing because I don't know what to do with myself. With the new year I hope to be less freaking lazy and make more stuffs? I have an interview with NYmag on thursday of next week and I have to email a million bands to take pics. I hope this herald de paris thing goes well and that the press stuff ends up working out. on another note i still want this Looking through http://community.livejournal.com/foto_decadent I found this large post for this photographer Tony Duran. Although clean cut, digital-e kind of whatever shots I was into the lighting of some of them Ok this has the cliche sunflare that sometimes looks cute but the point is remember him? Yea smallville dude Tom Welling. Basically I just like this pic cause he looks hot. Sue me. http://community.livejournal.com/foto_decadent/1913761.html#cutid1

Life Goal #2
I need to learn how to light properly and creatively

Oh yea the other day I also saw and heard Franz Ferdinands new video/single. I love those dudes. I also love the cover art and the video and Alex Kapranos. And his book, which I found randomly and loved.
"This is the cover of our new LP. The photograph was taken by Soren Starbird by the side of the Barras in Glasgow. We’re shooting a series with photographers we like in different cities we end up in. The Ulysses cover was taken in Brooklyn by Guy Eppel and we were in Paris and Warsaw with Youri Lenquette and Joe Dilworth recently. They’re shot as imaginary crime scenes, invaded by the photographer. A slice of night frozen by flash. Weegee as Cindy Sherman." Alex

Shout out to my txtin and all around awesome buddy Julia Real World looks amazing and you'll just have to tell me about it, ill be too busy dying while watching lost after a million year hiatus. Sawyer I love you baby. Get ready for Friday the 30th. We be stalking.

Gabikol

I really don't understand why this had never occurred to us before. I mean its kind of ridiculously obvious that this should've happened a million years ago. Our lists alone should've been proof. on that note lets start an ongoing list:
Life Goals
#1 have someone write a song for me or about me in a non mean spirited way

btw this is an acerola:one of the greatest fruits/fruitjuice ever

in the wise words of carrie pilby "If I ever meet someone who asks me to meet up for some fruit juice, I'll marry him."
